Privacy Policy
Plain-English answers about what this site collects, what it never collects, and how to control it.
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The short version
- We don't require accounts, we don't sell your personal data, and the calculator works without any personal information at all.
- We use Google Analytics to count anonymous page views and understand which features are used.
- Advertising disclosure: this site displays third-party ads that may use cookies for measurement and, where permitted, personalization. You can opt out at any time (links below).
- If you contact us, we use your message only to reply — nothing more.
1. Who we are
TimeSaver Wine (“we”, “us”) operates the website timesaverwine.com, a free wine chilling and aeration calculator. For questions about this policy or your data, see Section 14 or visit our contact page.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us voluntarily
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and message. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry and keep it only as long as the conversation requires. We do not add you to marketing lists.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically receive standard technical data: your IP address (truncated where supported), browser type and version, device type, referring page, pages visited, and time of visit. This is processed through Google Analytics (Section 3) and our hosting provider's server logs.
2.3 What the calculator does NOT collect
All calculator inputs (wine type, temperatures, methods) are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter into the calculator is transmitted to or stored on our servers.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (property G-YFLKZPH88J) to understand aggregate site usage — which pages are read, which calculator features are used, and how people found the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and uses identifiers such as your IP address and advertising ID (where available) to generate reports.
You can prevent Google Analytics tracking entirely by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
4. Advertising & cookies disclosure
This site is ad-supported. We display third-party advertising (for example, via Google AdSense or a similar network) in clearly labelled slots. These partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to:
- measure ad performance (impressions, clicks);
- limit how many times you see the same ad;
- select and serve ads — including, where you have not opted out, personalized ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
This is not a complete list, and we do not control third-party cookies. To manage personalized advertising:
- → Google: Google Ads Settings
- → Industry-wide: NAI Consumer Opt-Out · DAA WebChoices
- → EU/EEA: partners should show a consent management prompt where required by law.
Blocking or deleting cookies does not remove ads — it only makes them less relevant. The site remains fully usable with all cookies disabled.
5. Third-party services
In addition to advertising and analytics partners, this site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and it loads Tailwind CSS from a CDN. These providers process minimal technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver content. We do not knowingly share personal data with any other third party, and we never sell personal information.
6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on:
- Consent — for cookies used in analytics and advertising (withdrawable at any time via your browser or the opt-out tools above);
- Legitimate interests — operating and securing the website (e.g., server logs, preventing abuse);
- Legitimate interests / necessity — replying to messages you send us.
7. Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- rectify inaccurate data;
- erase data (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict or object to processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time;
and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, email us using the address in Section 14 — we respond within 30 days.
8. Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act entitles you to:
- Know what categories of personal information are collected and how it's used;
- Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note: we do not sell personal information; ad personalization by our partners may count as “sharing,” and you can opt out using the industry tools in Section 4 or by contacting us with “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the subject line;
- Delete personal information we hold about you;
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
9. Data retention
Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings (14 months by default). Server logs rotate automatically.
10. Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because we collect so little data, our exposure — and yours — is deliberately small. No payment or account data is ever handled by this website.
12. International data transfers
Our providers (Google, Cloudflare) may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by those providers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
14. Contact us
Privacy questions, data requests, or “Do Not Sell or Share” notices: use our contact form and choose “Privacy / data request” as the topic. We aim to reply within a few business days.
